Just wanted to report we tried the revelator flasher #50971 when it was slow Saturday and had numerous salmon hit it behind a mag dipsy paired with a Tamiron Purple People Eater! The flasher was in a prize bag my son won in the LCI. I have messed around with spin doctors in the past more as a target, but the revelator showed some promise. Try them out if you got em!

Was always wondering how a flasher setup like that would work on champlain. Has anyone tried a bigger flasher such as a spin doctor?

Here is some good info from Ace Charters on Ontario for those interested in a flasher fly set up. http://www.acecharters.com/fishing/fish ... her-flies/ I am going to play around with it in the deep this summer and see if it can be consistent.

I made up some mylar flies, but downsized for Champlain. Peanut flies work well, and recently I tried a three fly meat rig with an mc rocket. Big lakers love the mc rocket and if you snell a hook and use one twinkie fly and put it in front of the mc rocket the lakers hit the twinkie fly also. The 32" laker in my avatar pic has an mc rocket in its mouth. Not saying you need to run out and buy them as any Bee or flutter spoon will work for lakers

Only trolled for an hour saturday afternoon. Chasing marks with a flasher with a peanut fly down 114 took three hits. After the second hit and noboddy home I went to a scotty pinch pad release and the third hit produced a laker. Was running a mag dipsy on wire out 240 with a flasher and home made 4" mylar fly and was letting more line out and took a salmon with 260' out. Having a blast playing with a wire dipsy this year.

Goal was to let the kids catch panfish and we struck out so I had to put the trolling gear out to catch a few.
