gerry thanks for the report although i think their cormorant info is way off, i have not seen a decline if anything a incline in their population.

Looks like they are adding some more rivers on to the lamprey treatment list, and have found that the LaPlatte has a high number of spawning lamprey which I bet won't be too hard to tread since it is not a big river. Also not liking the info about white perch. Seems like they're doing nothing but harm to the yellow perch population. Alewifes seem to be slowly replacing rainbow smelt, have big die-offs easy (but we all knew that)...but seem to affect the reproduction of lake trout and salmon once consumed which is concerning. Wish they'd get more into that...I'd like to one day see some salmon above the dam in Winooski. I still don't forget seeing the signs on the tree's on the upper Winooski when I was about 10 years old that were to help us tell the difference between a salmon and a trout. I always thought to myself, how the heck are salmon in this river? I never did catch one.....
It's amazing to see that the number of lamprey wounds are down to 15-20/100, when back in 2006 they looked to be in the high 70's for every 100 fish checked...wow!
