SUNDAY LAUNCH OUT OF MALLETTS BAY
SUNDAY LAUNCH OUT OF MALLETTS BAY
Met Homewrecker at the Malletts Bay launch at 4:30am. Had the launch to ourselves!! We cruised out of the Bay and out to the broad lake and set up. Quickly had a release on the slide diver which was back at 100 feet. The fish stayed down but was doing a good rod jerk. Finally got it to the net and we had a nice 23" brown that had a nice kyped jaw and was a golden yellow color and quite heavy. Weighed 4lbs 9 oz after I had bled it in the livewell. It was my personal best brown taken on the lake. It came on a brass, geen and purple slide diver with a custom painted copper blue and yellow chartreuse with black dots flash king running 12 feet behind the diver. A growing south wind had us pull of the broad lake by 9am after netting 4 lakers (biggest being about 7 lbs). Most came on the riggers down around 60 feet. We moved back to the outer bay and reset. We caught a number of shaker salmon and did miss 1 larger fish, but pulled up by noon as the bay had a good manmade chop from all the boat traffic. Surprisingly the launch was not too busy when we took out as it appeared most of the boaters had already launched for the afternoon. Didnt see a lot of bait in the outerbay or the broad lake section that we fished, but certainly a lot of boats.
