We managed to get off the lake with minutes to spare before getting clobbered at the Coast Guard launch dock
by some major winds. A couple minutes after this pic was taken, I couldn't see the Burlington Boathouse.

Glad you were out of the water before the storm hit.
That was not the case for everyone. I was pulling back to the dock in Mallets about 15 minutes before it hit. One of my dock mate came running over saying that his son had just called and he could not start his Zodiak and he and his three budies needed help. There was no way that this guy was going to get his 38' troller to the kid in time so he hopped back on my boat and out we went. Directions were a little iffy and we spent a couple minutes searching on the wrong shoreline but finally located them. The rain started about half way back to the dock and the lightining seemed to get closer with every flash. We got back to the dock just in time. We released the Zodiak and glided to our dock. The boys helped get the ropes succured as the sky opened up. Then the wind turned on in full force. If we would have been two minutes later we never would have been able to get the boat into the dock with the wind like it was.

I'm am very happy that all ended well.

Thanks Browntown for helping them.
It's never safe to be on or near water when there's lightning.

Have a safe summer everyone.

Nice going Mike!! It's acts of kindness and in this instance bravery that help to give sportsmen a good name. I remember the first time that I met you as I was just getting on to the ice to fish and i accidently dumped all of my bait on the ice. You were just coming off the ice and gave me your extra bait so that I could set up and fish instead of going for more bait. A true act of a sportsman I was truly grateful and I will always remember it. Thanks for helping me and thanks for helping those folks!! May the fish gods smile upon you!!
