Lake Champlain DNA strand?

Post by VTgooseman »

Came across this cloud of bait yesterday and thought it was strange but very cool! Has anyone else ever seen anything like this before?

That is cool and strange.

Did you pick up any fish over it?

Yes, Lakers were hugging the bottom of the bait. At first I thought I was getting a funky reading so I went back over the same spot and same thing showed up.

That's the coolest bait I've seen.
Catch and serve with lemon.

Surprised to see almost 60* water temps so early...practically swimming temperature...

Was this the Southern part of the Lake?

This was down south near Converse. Any thoughts on what kind of bait would school like this? It was a huge school of bait, I would say it was easily 30 yrds long {I took waypoints at either end of the bait} of the same pattern. I wish I would have shot a video so you guys could have seen it.

my guess is they were alewives and the pattern is indicative of them being chased by gamefish
