How could we ever move forward and find ways to help our lake if we all had that attitude? I appreciate the efforts the LCI takes towards OUR lake. I don't exactly follow everything the LCI does...but I genuinely appreciate their cause.

I can confidently say Bob is making a joke. I know him to be very deeply involved and invested in Lake Champlain conservation. What he is trying to say here is that not enough people take the time to really understand the issues, or how easily some of them could be solved. Unless you are an angler, or happen to show up to the beach on a day its closed, the unfortunate fact is that many people don't see pollution in our lake as an actual problem. If it's not something that directly impacts them (even though it does more so than they realize), they just don't give a shit.
