After reading the bloodbath updates all week. Randy my friend Doug and myself arrived at Oswego 6 am Fri morning. We were greeted to 3-4 footers with occasional 5' sets. By the afternoon it did lay to 2-3's. We managed 5 skipper kings just west of 9 mile in 100-120 FOW. Inside in the morning produced 4 browns all 3-5 lbs. Sat at daybreak we had a game plan to head all the way to 9 Mile from the little Salmon. Rumor had it Kings were in 100-130 off the plant. The screen lit up in 80 FOW. Stopped setup. Reached 100 FOW the screen went dead. We turned to go back and there was a double on kings one 15# the other 10#. Rods do not even get set as another fires. Here s our opening double
We ended the day with 12 Kings and 4 Browns. The hot spoons were Purple glo alewife and glo Chicken wing. We also had a green with white belly black ladder back that fired several times on our dipsey at 175 just only hooked up on that combo only twice this weekend. Sun we ran to our waypoints from Sat. Hooked up on a double with 3 rods set. A nice 9lb laker and a 12lb king. It wasn't long and Randy hooks up with this 16 lb laker
Shortly later Doug caught this King
About 9 we gave up on the Kings and went into 30- 50 fow and did 7 browns the largest was this 10lb'r as we picked up at noon to head home
I do not know if the Kings are going to last in Mexico but it sure was a blast we ended the weekend with 20 Kings 15 Browns and 2 lakers for 33 hours on the water.
