Launch/fishing locations Champlain

Post by CanadianFisherman »

Hey guys! I'm thinking of starting to fish Lake trout and salmon on lake champlain. Though I have plenty of experience on memphremagog, I don't have any on Champlain. I live in Saint-Jean Canada, and was wondering if anyone had any advice on what launch to use / where to start my hunt on the lake? Any advice on locations and lures would be much appreciated. I also imagine the best liscence to get is the Vermont one... anyone know where abouts I go to purchase this?

Thanks!

Run your mouse over the tab at the top, "Fishing Lake Champlain". You will find links to boat launches on both sides of the lakes as well as Vermont Fish and Wildlife where you can buy your license on-line.
Keep an eye here in the reports section. Fisherman follow the fish and the fishing changes like the wind.
Catch and serve with lemon.

lol thanks for the tip on the launches and licence! This is definitely a good start... very non-specific on the location... but I'll keep looking! Thanks for the info!

If anyone else has any tips on locations to start, feel free to drop me a line!

Thanks!

CanadianFisherman, if you follow the fishing reports you will get a good idea on where and how.

Just a question of time.

Really?? Sandbar?? I hope it's warming up. It will save me gas money from having to drive to Converse and farther south.
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will go buy a boat.

Vermont Rte 2. Take I89 to exit 17, then go North on Rte 2. When you cross a bridge, that is known as the sand bar. There is a launch site on the right just after crossing over the water.

Note: just after getting on Rte 2, about 8/10 mile on the right will be Dockside Outdoors. They will have the most current hottest lures to use on Lake Champlain and the most up-to-date information.
Catch and serve with lemon.
