Kamel's Weekend Fishing Report from the Hudson
Kamel's Weekend Fishing Report from the Hudson
Jumped aboard Captain Obe Whites boat for the weekend, Cloud Nine Charters, and did some striper fishing with Dad, my bro and brother-in-law.
It was a trip to celebrate Dad's 70th birthday which was in February so we've been anticipating this trip for some time now.
Great weather, great food and great times.
All fish were caught trolling 10 - 20' down.
Dad took a bunch of better pics but these are just a few I captured with my cell.
Here's Dad with the first fish.
Here's my bro with his big one....
Here is me with mine....
Friday afternoons results......
We fished Friday afternoon, all day Saturday and Sunday morning.
Biggest fish 39" and 23 lbs....a few in the 37" range some schoolies in the mix.
Great memories made of fishing with Dad and the boys.
Obe put us on fish and was a great host.
Look him up if your looking to fish stripers in the Hudson in the spring!
I forgot my phone at home today so I can't upload a pic of my brother-in-law with his nice one. Stay tuned...I'll put some more pics up. Dad took a bunch of good ones.

Looked like a great time Kurt! I've never caught a Striper but they look like they would be fun to catch.
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will go buy a boat.

Very nice Kurt. Looking forward to seeing the other pics.
Like Del Gue, I've never had the opportunity to fish for them. I haven't ever eaten any either and I hear they are hard to beat for table fare!.
Thanks for the look!

Re: Kamel's Weekend Fishing Report from the Hudson
I was off for 10 days for a trip to Florida which I ended with catching the Sprint Cup night race at Richmond, worked 3 days and then pulled a long weekend fishing for stipers.Reelax wrote:So thats where you have been! Thanks for the report.
Back to the regular work routine now..

You are right! Saltwater fish has a unique taste all their own and striper is fantastic broiled with Old Bay or sauteed in garlic and butter.Raz wrote:... I haven't ever eaten any either and I hear they are hard to beat for table fare!.

Went down and fished right below the Troy Dam a couple weeks ago and managed a lot of herring and 1 striper in the boat and about a dozen runs

captain Larry Jones treated us to chunks of striper, deep fried in a turkey fryer down in Kingston one time and it was absolutely out of this world
