riding the waves out of converse on saturday

Post by Cardinal »

We set up at garden island first thing around 7 picked up a salmon on the lead core near thompsons point. To get out of the waves we went into town farm bay. We had a release but fish came off half way bringing it in. Not long after had a couple more salmon in the boat on the downriggers. And picked one up on the lead core again. We had our limit by 9:00. We headed back to thompsons and had a miss there and we made our way to kingsland we picked up some more over there. Total salmon on saturday was 8. Had 2 on the downrigger, 3 on lead core, and 3 on the mini diver. Biggest salmon was 191/2 inches and 3 pounds. It was an eventful day. The hot lures of the day was crazy ivan green hornet and whalons green. and green white and pink dots. cant think of the name of that one. 10 ft down on the riggers and 2 to 3 colors of lead.

good to hear positive reviews of thompsons. Haven't been there this spring, though gave it some play this winter with no play

Good stuff Travis...thanks.
I've been playing with the small slide diver this year, a first for me. I like it, very light drag on the line. I have yet to pick up some of those mini Big Jons, guys are getting them to fire quite regularly.
Thanks for the report. Hope to see you on the water.
