Not sure if it was a 25 or a 19' boat. Tragedy nevertheless.

I read on another site that it was a sailboat.

My son was the in Petty Officer in charge of the USCG duty crew and he told us the guy took his PFD off so that he could swim ashore. He recovered the PFD and the victim's hat and had the victim's son identify them as being his dad's.

A very tragic story for sure and one of many that my son can tell.
