Frostbiting with Tom & Herb

Frostbiting with Tom & Herb

My pals met me at home at 8:30 and we headed to the private launch in Ferrisburgh. Splashed in and headed to Fishville, two other boats on post. We set up today a pattern of two down riggers with free sliders, two lines with 3/8 oz bead chain out 60 ft with a TX15 side planers out another 60 ft. and a 1/2 oz bead chain long line down the chute in the prop wash out 30 ft.

Dark threatening skies (my favorite) had me head to black purple and copper. Not to be disappointed the choice held all day. Flat water to 10 inch ripples. It was a steady pick for us and lost way more than boated today, 19. They were Slam and jump/jump/jump with a couple age classes in the mix all empty of bait. No Gulls or Loons around either. The three lakers we boated were still full of enough gas to give a good fight. The TX15's took the bulk of win losses and most on the turn...classic Salmon fishing! The Lowrance Elite shows any follower down and lets you play with e'm at the downrigger! When we found bait there were fish and we caught e'm too! I LOVE THIS SHOW!

Gotta work tomorrow and looks like I'm done until January with the Holiday and work. Lots of time and fishing to be had as water today 46.1 degrees. Fish On ! Randy

My Camera battery died so no pics, but here is today's lures that were run all day....

Randy, the light and variable was there with Dreamcatcher, Homewrecker and Reelax aboard. We had a fine day that ended up with us finishing a grand slam with a pig 4.5+ lb brown that jumped and acted like he was 8 lbs.... Great weather, great fishing
And great company for the day. We ended up with 12, including some big lakers.

Video of end of brown fight.

Thanks Relax for your report. The crew aboard the Light & Variable sure had a good time. Homewecker's brown is gorgeous.

That 3rd spoon DOWN IS THE NEW HEX PATTERN THAT WILL BE ON ALL Honeybees for the future. Since it has a better than average surface relationship with tape, even the painted colors will have that same pattern. We are very excited about 2016 and this new design./ Jim
