Larrabees

Post by salmonstreamer »

Launched about 10:30 Sunday morning. Late start but you go when you can.
The bite was slow. Real slow for us. Talked with some people who were still using
shiners and jigging grubs for crappie and they were getting some fish.
We fished all the way to five mile point not one perch or crappie. Pick up one bass
on a curly tail jig.
We changed tactics and tried for pike. Two more bass, a pickerel and a northern.
The bass were in the 13-17 range, the northern was small (doubt if it went 25) and the
pickerel was 22 but very heavy. Really impressive girth for a pickerel.
All in all it was slow fishing but any time you can get out in the lake in a boat in March
and not be freezing you butt off is a good day.

I haven't been out in March yet...doesn't look promising either.
Thanks for the report!
Catch and serve with lemon.
