Update you're Navionics chip

Post by Wallyandre (Andre) »

It depends on when you purchase you're chip but once you download the APP you insert you're chip and if it's avalaible follow the instructions. If you bought you're chip in 2011 it's probably compatible with the upgrade.

Andre,
Not sure if it will update the existing Niavionics chips or if you need to purchase a new chip and then have the free update.

Maybe I read wrong....
Can you provide more info as to what Niavionics is offering.

Easy to find out if you're chip is eleigible: download the Navionics APP and follow the instruction; if it can't update it's because it's not eligible. To start with it needs to be a 2011 chip and maybe 2010 not later then that

I updated my Navionics Hotmap Premium today.
I took about 40 minutes, and now I have free updates for one year.... great deal.

After you finished updating your Navionics card, it offers you to download the free Navionics PC App.
I installed the PC app, and it took about another 30 minutes to download the updated chart.

It's a great app.
Based on the Navionics card you originally updated, it will download the same map on your PC.
I had Navionics Hot Map Premium Canada map, now I can view any Canadian lakes, including part of the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain, directly on my desktop, as if I was looking at my GPS screen.

It is great for planning fishing trips or searching for special spots. You can mark waypoints and routes, check distances .

Great tool to use during off season, while waiting to put the boat back in the water.
