Getting the boat ready.

I just finished up building an arch for my Lund. Made from 1 1/2" conduit. 4 Tite lok planer board rod holders on the side and 5 top rod holders. Total invested is $156.49 and a few hours of my time. Also installed a Controll King this week.

Thats a fine looking arch what are the chances you could produce a scale drawing for me?? I'm looking to do something similar for my boat. Really nice work!!!

Same thing as a Rocket launcher. About the drawing, you would be better off taking measurements off your boat and the height of your top, width of your boat and such. I made mine so it fit tight to my top unlike the "universal" ones.Thanks I had fun building it.

I think Im gonna run this one for this year and see how I like it and then maybe duplicate it out of Aluminum.

Maybe you guys could help me out, Im looking to have a bow cover made for this boat. Who do you recommend?

Nice work Gooseman. You might want to be careful with the angle of the top rod holders. They looked like they are angled back. If you have rods stored in them and you hook a fish you might be bumping them. I used to have o be careful about that with my Crestliner.

Ok thanks for the tip. The pics are a little deceiving they are close to a 45 deg. angle. Ill keep the "Bill Dance" Hook sets to a minimum!

Nice looking piece of work.
How much does it weigh.
Aluminum is the way to go, but it's much difficult to weld.

Its about 25lbs as you see it. It turns out Im a welder so thats not an issue. The material is a lot more.

I am thinking of getting one for my boat. Nothing fancy, but I would like one I can remove occasionally.
Can't afford to pay $$$ for commercial one. Keeping my eyes open for a good deal.

I made this one so you remove two knobs per foot of the arch and just lift it off. Easy on, easy off.
