These days using live bait work too. Got to a river and landing 3 within one hours. And next 3 hours get only another 2. 3 salmon ,2 big browns. Keep one brown as supper. It's a 7.5 lb. big enough.

Thanks all. I think it's my largest fish I've caught. I still stick to the same spot today. A hole day get 3 salmon, normal size, maybe 2-4lb. No photos. Too many fisherman and also at least 15 fish be landed. jigs, rapala, worms, minnows all work will. And even you can see some fish rest at the bottom of the river when sun comes out. But those fish never move, never bite, no matter worms\ jigs\ flies. Maybe they are too tired to be hooked. Of cause a little stone can make it move away.

I'm a diehard fishman. Today 8 hours. only landing one. Lost one. A lot of people come and leave. Just because no bite today. There are maybe 15 fisherman had been there. Only see 3 landing, including 1 foul hook, and 1 mine. Really frost bite? Here is the fish I landing. It's a 22'' female salmon.

jim (jimbo) and i left shore fishing for lakers for a river after salmon and browns. i got a call from jack lv on the way to the river saying to very congested with fisherman. we got to the river around 10:30 am or so and met jack and wayne. they decided to go perch fishing so jim and i went down river and saw fisherman covering every hole. tried it for a half hour or so below them out of the pools with no luck. so i asked jim if he wanted to go down river to the unrestricted area and he said yes. when we were transferring rods from my vehicle to his he snapped off a piece of the rod tip and he was just you might say very down on himself. it was a nice rod and he bought it 15 years ago for a good amount of money. the best rod he has ever owned he said and nothing will replace it. i know just how he felt after that salmon broke my rod tip on my new fenwick salmon/steelehead rod. we finally got down river and started casting i was using a bobber and a crawler and jim was casting a homemade spoon. jim got a hold of a real big fish and it shook the hooks off. another big dissappoitment for jim. we then decided to call it a day since jim had a 2 and half hour drive ahead of him. just got a email from jim and he arrived home safely and most likely will return next week to give it another try with maybe better conditions.

Sorry for the lost of jimbow. That's true. Too may fisherman. Especial at 10:00-13:00. But they won't stay there very long time. I fishing about 6-7 hours today. No hit this morning. But still see somebody foul hook. Fish still there but bite a little. And afternoon, get back about 1:00 . Only get 1-2 bites. Landing a good one. maybe 24''. My fishing type is the easyest. Fit for lazy man standing there or siting there fishing.

here is my type. Draw it myself. bait use livebait(deadminnow is ok). Because of the water is flow. make deadminnow sometimes look like moving. trout and salmon will bite it. Some place can't use weight. It's better to use weight to let bait near bottom. Make sure water is moving. not too still. But also flow not too swift, or you need to cast too often. Water speed just like a little slower normal walking speed is the best. In fact, I use fly lures as bait at Oct. It's also work.
