Lots of Lurkers Ivan...we see it on the MFF and IceShanty sites in NH...a good group of contributors, but lots of lurkers who do nothing but wait to steal spots. Its very frustrating!!!

I for one have been following your post but have not been out to fish the bay. I just purchased a 22 sylvan and looking to get into trolling for salmon and lakers and those so called walleyes if any left in the lake lol. I have to purchase downriggers and planner boards yet for the boat since it was plane jane. Been looking a lot but just no equipment in my price range right now that I can find. Also what so I go with and look for as to arm length on downriggers 2,3,4ft ??????????? Thanks for the info and hope to get out soon if I was all equipped I would fish the rotary but not so I guess I will have to pass on it this year. cpmaple (chad)

First of all the water is still cold enought that you do not need downriggers to catch Salmon, Stealhead or Browns. A few colors of lead core, long lining (225ft), or mini dipsys, either big Jon or walker........ All of these work just fine for salmon fishing this time of year.
As for length of rigger booms it depends on your boat!!!!! Make sure you have a good sturdy place to mount the base...then measure. Be aware of your kicker motor and main prop when you are deciding how long, how many and where. Plenty of people on this site to help you out.

Thanks for the input just getting into trolling and always wanted to do it just never had the boat now I do and want to equip it the right way. Looking to put 4 downriggers off the back but for right now I will be happy with two. thanks again for your input and i'm gonna have to stock up on some of your lures since I live 4 miles from Norm's bait and tackle

Myself and fishing partner Dave Fondry have teamed up with Mitch and Casey Mcgrath. We are entered as The Hawgcatchers! Hopefully we'll have good weather for the weekend. Fished today out of converse and did a laker a salmon and 2 steelies, one about 19 inches. The waters about 10 degrees colder than last weekend and lots of dirty water. Much higher as well. Hopefully the rivers will have time to flush out and the water will clear some. Slide diver ruled. 30 feet of line and diver about 15 back. Rainbow speedy shiner did 2 fish. Salmon came in the dirty water. Steel came in clear deeper water, but near surface. Good luck to all!!

Still thinking about it. I'll miss half of Saturday in travel. Was originally planning on trying to avoid the tournament, but the timeframe worked out best for us. Would hate to catch a winner and then not be entered.

Fishing with Team Hooked UP. We've usually done well during the Rotary, but have had disappointing luck up North. We might have to change the game plan. Still a great time and look forward to it every year. Good Luck All and watch for the junk in the water. 2 boats 4 guys. Good time.

My son and I are really pleased to be teamed up with the Fishdawg'ers. Having been on a couple of the earlier Fishdawgs (before he was a TV star) had lots of fun and learned much. For better or worse we'll be up north on 68 and keep changing up the set as needed.
As others have mentioned, keep and eye out as there are lots of logs and junk in the water.
