Hey Gray Ghost, try putting the fly 10 or 11 inches behind the flasher instead of fifteen. For some reason, I've had better success with this in the past. Maybe because it gives the fly more movement? Also I think the heavier line between the fly and flasher helps to whip the fly around more. Run two flashers, one with the 15 inch leader and another with the 10 - 11 inch leader and see if it makes a difference. Let me know if you will. Thanks. Don

Very nice flies, Ken!

I also run the "000" size dodger. Usually Chrome with prism tape, but the chrome/brass split and all copper work fine too. Copper dodger with a copper & purple fly is a deadly fall lake trout combo. I use 15lb test fluoro for the leader. It's stiffer than mono and seems to get more action on the fly, especially at longer leader lengths. Most times I start with about a 15" leader and trim it down as I change flies until it's about 10-12". Much less than 10" and I feel it's getting too close to the dodger.

fishhuntadventure - interesting question. Popster & I have had some discussions about using "tube" flies on Champlain. Haven't tried it, but it could be promising. Tamiron has some good looking ones if your interested.

optimusfisher - troll flies for 'eyes? I may have to try that...
