Re: Vote for Lake Champlain
Thanks for posting this, Ron. Appreciate it.
Please take a moment to look at the letter below from LCI Executive Director James Ehlers. As it says, this is a national grant - it is Lake Champlain and Vermont competing against the US! The grant will allow LCI to implement their BLUE pollution prevention program in Burlington, thus greatly reducing the amount of urban runoff that ends up in our lake.

Dear Friends of Lake Champlain,
I’m excited to share with you that in a national competition Lake Champlain International has been chosen as one of six finalists to receive a $25,000 grant from MillerCoors, one of the nation’s top brewers, and River Network, a national non-profit working to improve the health of local rivers and watersheds.
We need your help to win! The winner will be chosen through an online voting competition; the finalist with the most votes will win a $25,000 grant, while second place will receive $15,000 and third place will receive $10,000. The remaining projects will each receive $2,000.
The money we receive will go toward improving the waters and beaches of Burlington Bay and Lake Champlain, overall. Please show your support by voting for Lake Champlain International between February 21 and March 19. The competition winners will be announced on March 22 at RiverNetwork.org .
The MillerCoors River Network Grant Competition, now in its fourth year, is made possible by an $80,000 donation by MillerCoors to River Network. MillerCoors believes that with great beer comes great responsibility and because water flows through every step of the brewing process, they’ve made water stewardship one of their top priorities. MillerCoors helps communities across the country conserve water and improve water quality through several programs. You can learn more about the brewer’s sustainability efforts at GreatBeerGreatResponsibility.com.
You can only vote once, so please pass this on to family and friends and encourage them to vote!
Sincerely,
James Ehlers
Executive Director

Just got word Lake Champlain is only about 100 votes behind the Mississippi River! Not bad for the for our little basin. Let's keep it going!
