I used the good advice from heijac and shaye d winds to smoke some salmon and kept some of it in the freezer too. Last night we had some folks over and made this salmon spread from some of the smoked fish. Not an original by any stretch but it sure was good, figured it might be share worthy:
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
12 ounces smoked salmon, chopped
3 dashes Worcestershire sauce
3 drops hot pepper sauce
1 teaspoon chopped fresh dill weed
2 tablespoons chopped green onion
Directions
In a bowl, stir cream cheese until it is no longer in a hard form. Add salmon, Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper sauce, dill and onion; mix well. Serve.
I mixed in some of our dried peppers from the garden and also served it with a slab of smoked salmon for extra fish topping if folks wanted to. It was a hit...
