I've got a new fishing Buddy

Post by Salmonseeker »

Just installed a Raymarine SPX 5 Sports Pilot, I took it out Monday to commision it and boy does it work great. While I was going thru the set up in Mallets Bay I notice there was alot of marks on my graph so when I finished threw down a couple of lines. Now that I have a driver for my boat that don't want to hog the rods or complain that I'm taking his turn,I had all the time I needed to set up. Once I had everything set up 35ft & 47ft on the riggers started to catching white perch,I did catch a couple of small salmon on brass & green but just getting out was well worth it and worth the investment for the auto pilot.

Hi Salmonseeker,
Getting an autopilot is on my wishlist.
Can you provide some details about your unit, and what is involved for the installation.
Is it a "kit" that you buy and install on your own?

Gecha,
It was actualy very easy to install once you figure out where you won't to put it, I did mine in about 3 hrs ( got thrusty took longer). The most important item is the compass it should be as close to center as possible. I have a Starc Fishmaster i just put it in up front where I store my life jackets. Any time you won't to take a look just let me know. You can go on Raymarine and down load the instalation guide.
