Keelers bay monday with Reelax

Post by Reelax »

Hit keelers bay with a Raz at dawn today. Ran a 4 rod spread of 2 riggers and 2 leadcore. Water temps between 44 and 48. Mostly 43 down 10 on x4d... Image ImageWe fished 1-3 colors of lead and 6-12 down on riggers with long set backs. Steady bite of 16-20" fish all morning. Image Fog picked up around 8am and the bite got better. Crazy Ivan copper bikini and blue and while honeybee were best spoons. Boat is now fully rigged and very comfortable... Lots of room out of weather...Image great view in the cockpit.. Hit most of the fish along the southern shore out to kibbe point.

Spent most if our time in 15-30 fow. Lost count in double digits and only dropped one fish all morning. Only saw 2 other boats out today.... Great day on the pond !

Great getting out Matt. Your boat is fun to fish from, very comfortable and fishy!
We dodged all the rain but was surrounded in heavy fog.
I did best with blue/silver speedy and this small honeybee on 1 color of lead.
Great times and lots of willing fish.
Get out if you can!

The new boat looks great! Love the storage you have. How did you get your I-pad to stay there?

Storage in boat is great. In floor removable ice box currently keeps all the life vests out if way but handy. Live well is within the frost bite cabin for easy access. Under dash areas with raised lip on both sides provide a place for each fishermans items for the trip, As well as a full size jump box to counter the single battery on the transom. Under each jump seat is ample tackle storage for large boxes full of trolling supplies. The small open bow is just large enough for a couple coolers, and under that is space for all safety as well as docking equipment, and more life vests, just in case. The boat can fish 3 comfortably and 4 if someone wants to stay at wheel. Amazed at how big the dance floor is with such a small boat. Fished with DA Committed across the abyss Sat in 3+ footers to test fish ability in bumps... We were impressed with 93" beam. iPad is hooked to windshield with a suction cup. Kinda like a sea sucker. I found the mount in Amazon for $18. Works good so far. Thanks for comments. Wife says I am a different person... Can't keep the smiles off me these days... I will retire in this boat... Fish on!

How is the ice box lid held in place? I think mine is magnetic.

Honeybees can be found at local tackle stores. Jims website is not back up as far as I know. The icebox lid is heavy. Held down by gravity as far as I can tell. The way it closes the edges interlock so it seals from deck grime and water.
