Out in front of Windooski river, Sunday, Oct 03

Post by Vtfishinglady »

Hi all,
we fished in front of the Winooski today, it was pretty rough (3') but it did pay off. 15 minutes after starting, we were right in front of the winooski in around 40' of water and caught this. It's a little over 21" long and believe it's a trout. Feel free to correct me..

Holy cow it's got teeth!

Thanks guys. We fished there for about 1.5 hours before going across the lake and didn't bring another fish home. A few dipsy-trips and some short bouts but nothing back to the boat. We took the trout on the same purple craze-crazy ivan down 28'. We put it back in the lake.. I really like the grabber to hold the fish until it's ready to swim away. After a while it just wasn't fun being bounced around so much, especially on the trip back towards the reef so we headed over to Willsboro bay and tried there for a bit. We immediately caught a small silver/white fish and then a bunch of trips but no fish in the boat. We were staying dry but since it was Chris's birthday (50th) and my son was home for the weekend we decided to call it an early day.

Nice day out for you!

What did you catch it on for color and lure? What speed and depth ....just asking as it helps everyone in a report. You will find this info handy from others and they from you !

P.S You will hear the scoop from me. Randy

Hi Randy, I think I had most of it between my two posts (I tell all) but I didn't put speed down as I'm not exactly sure because I wasn't driving, but it was between 2.6 and 3.1 mph. Here's detail in one place: A crazy Ivan lure called purple craze (half purple half gold sparke tape). The dipsy diver was running 28' down in 40' of water and we were trolling with the wind. and was coming from shallow to deeper.

Terri, in the spring, you can catch 100 of those on some days when the bite is good right in that area... Nice job... Congrats on your 1st laker!
