Mexico Bay bass fishing
Spent last Friday and Saturday bass fishing on Mexico bay out of the Little Salmon launch. Would have fished Sunday, but it was a washout. 6 guys in 3 boats landed 112 bass and lost almost half as many. 8-12 ft flats and 20 ft drop-off were the best spots. Mostly fished live bait - shiners, crayfish, and crawlers. Now here's the part that was new to me...gobies. Gobies were just nailing crawlers dragged on bottom. We caught loads of them between 4 and 7 inches long. I've read that they've infested the Great Lakes, but hadn't experienced it first hand. I wonder if you can use them as bait? I might try it next time.....
