Great friday on the lake
My first fishing trip of the season.
My destination was converse bay to start the season for salmon. we start for looking warm water.... 38.5 degres was the place to find salmon friday. We catch 6 salmon but we lost one a 30 feet to the boat.... is gonna be biger the next time. The best lure was yosory pin minnow purple and orange. the speed was 2.1 to 2.3 mph.
See you soon on the water guy's

yea definetly not 15inches, and i'm pretty sure you need 3 people to keep 5 fish.

not browns either. if people didnt keep every single fish they caught then we would dtart seeing a larger population of bigger fish.

Re: Great friday on the lake
Hi guy's,
Don't worry about the length .... the smalest one had 15 1/2 inches and it's a LEGAL FISH. Maybe tunkhunts 87 you think the salmon did not have 15 inches but you are wrong..... My gopro recorded the video when i mesured all the fish... And for your information, yes, we were 3 in the boat....
Maybe next time, just ask before writing ...... definitly not 15 inches......
I know the rules and i respect them!!!!!
Best of luck for you guy's for this nice season starting and i hope it's gonna be a good season for all of you

Re: Great friday on the lake
Thanks Benoit for the post, congrats for your catches, and for clarifying the fish length.
Not easy to estimate their size on the picture, but I also believe no decent angler will ever keep, and less post, a fish that is not legal.
Let's all enjoy the beginning of another great fishing season.
Hope to do my first outing next weekend.

Thanks Benoît,
If somebody post some fish in the report section it won't be crazy enough to do so if they were not legal! Except if he miread the rules & régulations.
Congrats on a nice outing with some nice fish and hope I will see you soon on the water

Re: Great friday on the lake
Pictures can either make them look big if held arms length close to the camera in front of the fish holder displaying the fish horizontal or small if taken on the ground with no reference ie. ruler or something.
I myself questioned a 10+ lb salmon caught before the LCI posted on the other forum 3 years ago as it just didn't look big enough in the photo on the cooler top laying flat. I was very wrong because other photos taken off line I was assured it was all of that weight by close friends who saw those additional photos. Lesson learned for me. I think that fish was taken on Starbuck's yacht that was caught in a small derby among friends .
Photo's of fish from different angles or especially laying on the ground are very hard to accurately measure and weigh from those photos first pass. Take a 4-5 lb fish at arms length and it will look like 6 lbs. in the photo. Lay it on the ground and it might look 3-4 lbs by itself.
Nice catch Benoit and nice boat!
Congrats.
Ron
