These fish in the data are Federally stocked unclipped fish. We submitted lots of state clipped fish that don't appear in the data about 50% more than the 123 shown.

This kind of participation in this DNA collection is infectious! To see the results posted by fishermen's contribution is very cool and gratifying! Gives us a new motivating reason to fish other than catch and release. Great stuff! Look forward to the 2025 data! Already off to a great start for 2026 data with more help.

Today we had Graham on the boat with the goal to catch 2 live salmon and later insert two used tracking devices inserted last Fall from fisherman that caught them and turned them in this Spring. We ended up with 45 bites and landing 30 salmon yesterday with Graham on the rods for all of them on Ric's first outing of the year in the southern part of the lake. The highlight was a 6 lb 4 oz Master Angler salmon and catching another transmitter fish from last Fall. The Starts were aligned. It was my first time back on the water in 3 weeks since our 7 day trip to Lake Ontario.

I see a very happy face on that pic.
Looks like this spring bite is well above average.

Thanks Gerry! Huge amount of salmon in the lake this Spring just like Ontario! One thing I forgot to mention was 1 of the 2 transmitters recovered this spring was the Shoot-Out winner was caught up in Alburg in April Graham told us! That fish sure traveled a ways!
