Well Opening Day was cold and sad without any Salmon coming into the Clyde River from Lake Memphremagog. Dozen or so fisherman lined the old favorite spots and caught nothing but a cold. Second day I went up to the power generator station where Vt Game and Fish installed the state-of-the- Art Salmon Ladder and Salmon Transfer tank system, where they used to truck them upstream above the dams Newport,Derby and West Charleston.
Didn't happen! They completely shut the system down. The 18 inch minimum size limit is safe when there are zero fish. Nice water...full to max., Clear and Cold and rushing. Perfect Right?

I assume it will be in service for the fall salmon spawn. I know it was last fall when I stopped. It sounds like they don't have a spring steelhead run.
