Hard top or soft top?
Looking for any opinions. Has anyone had both? I currently have 18' Lund Alaskan side console and it has been great. I'm looking for an upgrade. Considering Weldcraft, Duckworth, Hewescraft or other PNW boat. They have Soft top, hard, and partial hard top. The hard tops look pretty badass, but I'm concerned about height for garage, lack of feeling outside, and being cold on those spring / fall days when the sun is nice to keep you warm. It might be too big considering the jump up in size. The upside is not having to deal with canvas getting nasty, improved storage, better weather protection, and porta potty privacy for my darling bride. I currently have to trailer and will never have the cash to get a camp.

I’ve had both and find that a hard top is the way to go,pretty much for all the reasons you stated,if you have height to fit it in your garage, then in my opinion, that’s the way to go.even if you don’t,it’s not a big deal to throw a tarp over it and it can stay outside for the winter?

Just an FYI
We have a forum member that sells Duckworth boats out of Maine. He used to be an avid Champlain fisherman when he lived up off Maquam Shores.
