Westport Area heat dome fishing
Fished yesterday and this morning out at sunrise tried to beat the heat although fishing was hot on Monday the conditions beat us down.The good news is we boated 5-6 20”-23” silvers 6-7 shorts all still swimming,on Monday and 2 nice salmon this morning before the heat drove us off No real superstar spoon or color ran through a lot of gear .Best spoon for us was Northeast troller copper bread on slide diver and the tried and true blue moon.Had issues with my probe once fixed found 51 degree water with 64’ cable out.Bad news is the fleas are starting to show up real pia not long before breaking out the 30-40 pound also today the bay was filled with floating weeds constant line clearing another pia situation with that said still a fun couple of days
