Westport day 2
Well definitely wasn’t as productive as yesterday but we picked away at them.started where we left off yesterday in the south side of nw bay, slow ride out in almost zero visibility, trolled down past barber and back with 3 bites and 1 small laker in the boat, decided to pick up and run up to split rock, fished into whallons and then over to Thompson, had a little flurry of bites boating 2 small salmon and 3 lakers and dropped a few, continued south and we got down bye Diamond and diver goes ripping, before we could get to it out comes a nice salmon 3’ out of the water with the diver!!!!!takes back off peeling drag and does another awesome jump!!!!got him to the back of the boat and goes crazy again, finally got him in the net,no scale on the boat but I’m figuring around 8lbs.continued trolling south and picked off couple more salmon and lakers.wound up with around 15 bites,6 lakers and 4 salmon.not sure if we are fishing tomorrow morning or just heading home.already planning on fishing next June!!!!

Re: Westport day 2
Thanks for the update Jason! My better half wants to stay in northern waters tomorrow so we won’t be down after all. Maybe catch up with you if I drag the boat over to big O this summer.
I’ve only had 2 fish clear the water diver and all on a 4’ leader and it definitely gets the heart pumping! I lost one of them, a MONSTER salmon 15’ off the back of the boat and the other was a 24” steelie which the wife was battling and of course she fought it like a pro and we boated it. Some days (and especially lately) I think I should rename my boat from Mistress to MISS because I’ve dropped my share of fish
I’ll holler if we lock in plans for a trip west!
