Wouldn't be a season without a couple cats in the mix!

That was actually a very large female Matt, 35#s. The picture of the cat treed was about a 30# cat Bosco and I ran and I ended up have to climb a 50' spruce tree to find it. Once up there I don't believe it liked sharing a tree with a Wolverine and it launched itself out of the top like a fling squirrel, and yes landed on its feet with Bosco nipping at its heels. Ran 50 yards and went up that spindly birch! We let's that cat live to run another day being there was kitten tracks in the area and I didn't get a good enough look up its skirt

That is a big cat. It's cool you let mom go. Harvesting is nice, but that's not the fun part.

Yeah Ramel, I've come to realize over the years that I as tough as it is in the moment to let an animal, be it a young buck or sub adult cat, or even a coon out of a trap when the population is low( as it was after the rabies pandemic) or maybe that big fat female walleye or salmon full of eggs go back to grow another year and hopefully produce more opportunities for the future, has just as much gratification if not more.
