Halibut bite outta Homer;)

Post by Reelax »

Some of you may remember my Alaska Kenai trip last August. My little brother and his buddy Aaron are back up there already to their houses on the Kenai and Aaron trailered his new to him… Parker23 up from Mass to begin his adventures in the Cook Inlet out of the many ports near Soldotna. They are currently fishing/camping 3 days out of Homer for Cod and halibut. He found some today that required back up when boarded:)

Here are some pics..

I can’t wait to get back up there!!!

Houses are like 150k near the river on 1ac… hmmm heaven on earth sooo cheap.. Taxes are 1/3 rd of vt and if you are there more than 6 mo a year you get an oil stipends!!

I keep tellin him to send his new Scottie’s down for some 60-90lb Kings… but I think he is scared:)

He will be trolling salmon soon, he learned how to rig scotties on Reelax 5 weeks ago;)

Nice catches.
The flounders I'm targeting this summer are usually under 20", nothing compared to your nice halibuts.
