Mexico Bay 3/16

Post by Dirtyhooker »

Saw a break in the winds so we headed to chase browns out of Mexico. Water is still cold we saw 36 once or twice but for the most part the temp was34-35. Ran into an iceberg and debris field by Selkirk Shores so we headed west toward Catfish .Smithwick Rogues in Creek chub was our hot stick bait. Could not get any spoons to go. The morning started with 2-3'ers that subsided as the day went to a light chop.We ended the day 7 for 11 all cookie cutter browns. Not the best picture but here is a pic of my crew and 2 of the fish
Image Sorry about the t-top blocking Randy but the front deck was slippery due to all the ice that formed from the earlier waves. Here is a pic of the icecicles that survived the 4 hour ride home today.

It was great to get the boat out of its short 2 month hibernation and start another hopefully great year on Lake Ontario

Thanks Scott for the report and the pics.
Nice browns, you worked hard to get them.
I'll love to try the big O in spring, I can wait a few more weeks for the temps to go up a bit.
