A buddy and I fished Town Farm Bay after work for a couple hours last night in hopes of getting into some decent bass.
The north wind was more prominent than expected so we motored north and fished while drifting south with no luck. Next we targeted shallow area by the red buoy on the marina side. The vessel we fished out of was pretty basic so we would anchor in the shallows, fish the castable radius around the boat, then reset to the east to keep fishing fresh water. Now we were getting smallies and perch but nothing huge.
I had a second line soaking with frozen shrimp in hopes of picking up a sheepshead while anchored, no luck after multiple sets. Switched to a 6" live perch rigged in the back with a 1/4 oz fixed weight 4' from a little circle hook. Jammed the rod between the bench seats with the drag extremely loose and went back to casting. Not 5 min later, BOOM the fight was on! Sorry no measurements.
