I am not aware of that being an option in VT.

Do any states allow that?

Everyone must have a valid fshing license in their possession while fshing or helping someone to fsh except:
• Persons under 16 years of age;
• NYS-resident owners, lessees, and members of their immediate families occupying and cultivating farmlands, when fshing on their own lands;
• Persons holding farm fsh pond licenses and members of their immediate families, when fshing on waters covered by their licenses;
• Resident patients at Dept. of Mental Health institutions and Dept. of Health rehabilitation hospitals, and inmates at Division of Youth rehabilitation centers. License exemptions must be requested for such persons through the hospital/ institution by writing NYSDEC License Sales Unit, 625 Broadway, Albany, NY 12233-4790, or by emailing FW.Information@dec.ny.gov;
• When fshing on licensed fshing preserves.
Free licenses
The following individuals are eligible for a free fshing license and may obtain a license at any license issuing outlet:
• New York State residents who are legally blind and provide a doctor’s note to the License Issuing Agent;
• New York State residents who are active service members of the NYS Organized Militia (i.e., National Guard), or U.S. Reserve Forces;
• New York State residents stationed outside of New York who are on full time active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces and are on leave in New York for no longer than 30 days;

For Vermont:
Exceptions to License Requirements

A resident owner of land in Vermont, his or her spouse, and minor children may hunt within the boundary of that land and take fish from a private pond within the boundary of that land without a license within season (except if their right to obtain a license is under suspension). A nonresident owner of land has equal privilege if his or her land is NOT posted (except if their right to obtain a license is under suspension). “Posted” means any signage that would lead a reasonable person to believe that hunting is prohibited on the land, except for “Safety Zone” signs. Children under 15 never need a license to fish.

Thanks for the info
It was just in a convesation with a friend that we were wondering if it was permitted. Do any other States allow that, I am not sure.
Had a friend going fishing in Vermont and he asked me if it was like in quebec where your wife or kids can fish under your license if you are in the same boat or close to each other on shore.
