Fish finder/gps suggestions

Post by cpmaple »

Looking to replace the old finder/gps on my boat right now it's a lowerance 350a. Not a big fan of lowerance since my prior boat I purchased one for an was unhappy with it. What would everyone suggest for 500 dollar range? Thanks for the info in advance cpmaple

I wouldn't hesitate recommending Simrad for a Chartplotter setup. Either the Go or Cruise series has Plotters to fit your budget. Been using them for years

I Like my simrad evo9. I’d bet you
could get the 5” or 7” model in that price range.

Screen size doesn’t matter that much when you can mirror the touchscreen with an app on any tablet of any size.

That should work fine. Been using the NSS12-EVO3 Plotter for a couple of years with other Simrad accessories. Good, quality electronics.

I haven't upgraded for 7 years now still using my Lowrance HDS-7 Gen 2. I still really like the old school 83 Khz transducer vs. the X-ray screen look of the high frequency new ones the last 5 years. That looks like a great deal on the Simrad with the 83K transducer! For a $500 price point you can't go wrong!

The data is the same just each individuals preference and pocket book how they want to look at it. I purchased this unit used for $200 with an extra new transducer in the box in 2015.
