Today The Country Angler had some records set. Most salmon on, and most salmon boated in a day. Brody's personal record salmon, and Liam's first double on 1 rod, a salmon, and a laker, laker was the deep fish. Also, Brody's first time participating in doubles on separate rods. And, first time 2 meals were cooked while trolling on the grill. Funny how many records can be set in a day, when we've probably fished probably 100 times this year.
Final score today was 12 for 17 total, 5 for 6 salmon, the rest of the 12 boated were Lakers of varying size.
Liam's PR salmon honeybee lure from last week produced more salmon this week. Both species of fish were biting lots of different stuff. Biggest salmon came on a silver laker taker, 28 feet down pretty tight to the ball after lunch. Most salmon came north for us, but the biggest was middle, and the lost salmon was south. 1 salmon came from 90 down, 60 back, the rest from 25- 35 feet down, pretty close to the boat, all but one came from sliding cheaters. GPS speed was 2.4 to 2.6 all day. Water temperature was 43 at the surface. Tried some new colors today, and the fish hit just about everything. Even a dodger and fly being towed too fast. That was the lost salmon by button bay.
