Wahoo! Congratulations Liam!
Holy cow I misjudged my chosen launch area. I trolled a few circles in the lee of Garden Island but the lee isn’t much help. Played in the big waves in deeper water gor a minute and headed for shore. I used the slide diver but it was not functioning smoothly and neither was the levelwind reel. This is not the day to mess with it! Gonna see if I can find a steelhead or a brown in a river, instead.

From the looks of it you made a better choice of where to fish today!

We're all good swimmers, but, if we're under way, we all wear life jackets. Even when it's 85 and sunny.

OK, so boats put away and we're back on land after a celebretory lunch at Burger King.

That big salmon was the first fish of the day, and I took over the helm from Brody when the rod popped, and the boys went out back to land it. I knew it was something good a couplle minutes later when all of the screaming started.

Fish was caught 60 down, 50 back, New York side, maybe 3 miles away from our usual launch. This was the Spoon.

We think this might be a Honeybee, is this one of yours Jim?

Almost had 2 personal record Salmon in the boat today. After Liam boated his, soon after all that excitement, we had another one on who yanked it out of the release, and then immediately attempted to set the Lake champlain Salmon High jump record. I missed it but did hear the boys were yelling again. This fish was Brody's, but, unfortunately, it spit the hook way back. Then he boated the other smaller one posted earlier.

4 for 5 today, with 2 lakers in the mix.

Fishing was tough, we only ran 2 rods, 2 cheaters, and occaisionally 1 inline planer with lead. Big waves out there, and you'd lose the bow quick if you were'nt right on it. But, we fished some areas weve never fished before, and Liam had his personal record Salmon, and Brody had his on and lost it. Boat handled the weather great, fished in a sweatshirt again. I took a few pictures of the weather, but, it was way worse than in the pictures, haha.

The big fish was really strong and healthy, no lamprey scars, and splashed us in the face on it's way back down. Good release.

Great day for you guys, congrats on the PB. Photos just never do the big waves justice for some reason.

Yeah, that fish was definitely outside of our self imposed slot limit. None of us wanted to kill it. Just a beautiful animal.
