Who is still fishing into FrostBite 2021??

Post by Reelax »

HELLO fellow salmon chasers...... Ever since my 1st frostbite run many years ago after hearing of Randy's "surprise" little winter meetings on the lake....... I have been all about getting out there when the lake is lined with ice... NOTHING like it.... My boat was specifically bought for this purpose.

No bass boats, No speed boats, No cruisers, No skiers, No Jet skis, No weeds, No flees, No sweating so bad your ass cheeks are slimy, etc. etc....

better stop there....

It is important from a safety perspective that we fish as many boats within sight or radio distance as possible... So I think it would be a good idea
to have folks chime in here is they are still fishing this season.... :?:

Who is still going out???

Fish on!

Aye, Matt, I'll be out there when I can. You still fishing on Mondays? I'm solo fishing until this pandemic thing is over. I'm only 1.5 miles from the CG ramp but I'll be down south a bit, too.

The Country Angler will be out there as long as my fishing buddies keep wanting to go out. It's getting to be a pretty comfortable and capable cold weather boat so far. Haven't needed anything more than a sweatshirt yet, with the coldest air temperature being 19 degrees at launch one morning.

Especially if anybody's interested in guiding us a little in new areas of the lake we don't usually fish, or giving us some tips and tricks on targeting new species. We've gotten pretty proficient at laker hunting, but haven't caught a brown in 2 years, never caught a steelhead, and salmon are less than double digits a year.

We usually launch here where we live, but, we'd trailer to anywhere the fleet is for support, tips, and tricks.

Definitely still taking the boat on Champlain until we can walk on the water and drill holes in it !

Happy make plans w/ others on the forum to form a frostbite fleet for safety.
I do not exaggerate when I talk about fishing - I underestimate, like I say "just one more cast honey, then I'll come home" !
Keep Calm and... Fish On !

Needless to say, I'll be out until I can walk on water (go ice fishing) on Saratoga - at the current rate - I could be "Frost Biting" 'til next year - which wouldn't bother me in the least - especially with a bite like the last three trips
