Norski here,
Growing up in Minnesota, we put most of the catfish that we caught in the smoke house for a good smoking. They turned out to be just delicious.

Re: My PB catfish The Story

Post by Sawyer »

On late Friday afternoon, we launched off at our laphams bay launch, which right across from camp in Shoreham, and headed to East Creek. The water was a little choppy, but nice and calm once we go into the creek. We decided to take advantage of an old wooden dock and tied the boat up. We both were using night crawlers and set them on bottom behind the boat, soon after, my line took off! I set the hook, expecting a hornpout, which wasn't the case!I thought the hornpout got under debris, because it ran and gave us quite a fight, back and forth, taking my line several times, once I got it to the top, Don netted it for me! I caught this cat off a #4 hook!!! Shortly after, I hooked another big one by a few pounds lighter!! Don hooked 3 more catfish which were nice eating size.

No eels yet, but I can’t wait to hook them!! They are sweet meat if no one ever tried eating them.
