Salmon bite
We have found a pod. This is the smallest so far and the 1st. Number 2 was bigger, 3 bigger yet and 4 was a little bigger... soon we should have a pig to play with.. shallow water bite 8-12fow. Long lines
More to come... we have all day!

Re: Salmon bite
Ended up 5 for 6 on salmon with a bonus lake trout at the start when we made a turn out of the zone. Once again seems like every time we threw meat in the grill the fish started biting... dropped a pig at about 2pm after a nice few runs but he didn’t want the net. I think the fish raged from 18” to 20” except that last end that had to be the next age class up, at least. Had only 2 jump but they were active when we found warm pockets. Hard to believe that .2deg can make the difference. 35-36deg today.
Thanks to Crazy Ivan and Dreamcatcher for jumping aboard on a Tuesday in early March. Barely even needed the heater today.. calm protected run today was about all you could fish. Good thing they were there...
Other that a trip to Florida in a few weeks, it’s time to enjoy the open water and the salmon bite, cause they are ravenous in the spring..

Hmmm... I wonder if I could get one of those grills on my kayak. Might up my catch rate.
Re: Salmon bite
Thanks for the post Matt. It is awesome of you to let us know the water depth and lure information. Hopefully, the wind is calm enough for another trip this weekend.

Re: Salmon bite
Looks like I need to uncover the ReelInvestment and take a short road trip north! Maybe I could if the sap would stop running for a weekend! 19,000 taps keeps me plenty busy this time of year, but I’ll be up there soon! Good luck to everyone and tight lines!
