Good luck to all you Rotary fisherman out there...!
Well, I haven't fished the Plattsburgh Rotary in years.... This year we decided it was time to jump back in for a go at it. This 3 day derby has always been one where we put volumes of cold water
fish in the boat, I can remember multiple rotaries with over 150 lakers boated and LOTS of GAS burned chasin them all over the lake....
In 2019 Team Reelax is back in it and the crew is rounded out with the 2017 Datillio derby
winning veterans that fish as hard as any trollers I have had the pleasure of pulling hooks with.
So, Friday morning DA Committed, RAZ, MarkinFish, and Reelax will hit the lake with a full tank, high hopes and more fishing gear than any one boat should be allowed to load on board. We may not come to shore till Noon Sunday, if the bite is good so stay tuned.. The reports will be posted for all to see when the epic ordeal is done... maybe even realtime reports if the bite is slow...
Hope to see many fellow forum members on the pond having as much fun as we will be...
Who is going to fish this weekend???

Reelax & Crew:
If confidence, enthusiasm and dedication have anything to do with success, I'd say you have a pretty good chance.

Whole lotta water out there this year. Without the docks it’s Going to be a little challenging at the Port Henry launch when we come in to weigh those derby fish! Good luck to all!

We launched Port Henry on two days of the derby. The issue really wasn't the lack of docks...it was the lack of restroom facilities!
Catch and serve with lemon.

I found a place to "hide" but noticed a couple of ladies that had that worried look on their faces! Hopefully they saw them!fishy1 wrote:gerry there are 2 located in the west end of the parking lot cant see them when there are pickups parked there we didnt even see them till our 2nd time at the launch.raz wrote:We launched Port Henry on two days of the derby. The port of Johns have been there the last few years. Thinking maybe they are having issues with the regular bathrooms Even though they are just glorified Porta potty’s. But enough about mother nature calls. How did everyone do? We struggled a little on Friday to get going with the waves in the morning Coupled with a couple little equipment glitches but we did boat a few fish in the afternoon but nothing to put on the board. Saturday was much better and we went 11 for 16 on the salmon. All but one fish came off the sliders. One came from the ball. Blue and silver and sausage gravy seemed to be working. Sunday morning was an abbreviated trip with three keeper salmon and then we quit at 10:30. Already thinking about rotary 2020!!!
