Sandbar Suprise.
I had four hours to kill between when the bus picked my daughter up and when it would return to drop her off. There was enough time to troll the Inland Sea for a few hours and still make it back. The reports of how bad the Sea is right now didn't fill me with excitement but that's all I had time for. Not wanting to die a slow death out there alone, I made a quick call to a local "Bait shop owner" and he was willing to go. We headed "to lunch" around noon and after a tricky launch at Apple Island we were fishing. The rods started firing almost immediately and to my surprise it was a Salmon! We fished for 2.5 hours and finished with 5 Salmon landed, two lost, two Bass and a handful of White Perch. The largest Salmon we landed was 18", the rest were smaller (~15") but were still fun. They all hit 20 feet down over 90+ FOW. Black/orange and white/red were the hot colors.
Pictured is the largest fish we landed. My fishing partner asked to remain anonymous because he was supposed to be working. Don't worry buddy, I got your back!!

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will go buy a boat.

Watch out for the public launch at Apple Island. I have a 16' boat and we were barely able to launch it. It's very shallow and the asphalt drops off over a foot just before the water.

Ah yes...the infamous bag head fisherman. Is this his second appearance?
My fishing partner yesterday tried to draw his identity out of me, but I remained loyal.
Good to know you guys struck silver in the Sea. It'd be great if the sea goes out with a bang...plenty o'silver until iced over.

I'm not sure about the bag, but that jacket looks familiar.
