Re: fishing info.
Usually great fishing for Landlocks in the late fall. Beginning about November. Some great frost-bite fishing.
Catch and serve with lemon.

Bass and pike are alive. Picking up fish on the edge of weedbeds in 12-6 feet.
Blue/silver was the hot color the past few times I was out. Avoid the state launch and pay $4 to use the apple island launch.
Here is a picture of the state launch. I was unable to launch due to the 14 inch pothole.

It sure would be a fantastic time for the state to get right into their new prize launch and make it useable. Low water... low traffic.. sure would be a good time indeed.

I was thinking the same thing. They should take advantage of the low water. You could make a lot of assessments just wading in a foot of water.
Even the private side is crazy shallow. I plan to launch there tomorrow at 2 for some fun!

I was told that the state can't get permits this year to fix the launch...... Seems crazy to me that the state can't get permits from the state.

As a member of VAST (Vermont Assoc. of Snow Travelers), I have seen permit nightmares coming out of Montpelier. They all belong to the same employer, but don't seem to always play well together. It's been @ 8 years since the LVRT (Lamoille Valley Rail Trail) was leased to VAST by the State, but is still tied up in the permit process. Red Tape? People make their living by creating it. Hopefully, the launch permits will move quicker than that.

Sorry to stray from the subject. Fish anywhere around Savage Island. Never know what you'll find.

Stay away from the South side of Savage! But if you want to wander over there, Bob Whites has a huge supply of props and lower units.
It's not marked and buying a $10.00 chart may save you thousands.
