Apple launch (state owned ramp)
I launched from Apple yesterday only to find the docks have been removed from the state ramp.
Any idea what they are doing or have planned short term?

I found the same thing with Dockside Ben on Thursday.
Don't know what's up, but I think the docks weren't part of the sale and the previous owners took them with them?
(rumored as such)

I called the Commish today to tell him about it. He's going to make a couple of phone calls to see if they can get a dock there this year. Otherwise it'll have to wait until next year. He said they will do doing a ton of work at that launch but I'm not sure when they will start it.

Thanks guys. I hope they can get a dock in place soon. I launch with my kids one of which is 7 months and it sure was tricky this weekend.

Early?
I thought feb was early? Lol!!
Looking forward to the new dock. I plan to take out my father this Friday and due to his age, we needed a dock to launch. His spiderman skill are fading.

I liked no dock. There were a LOT less people to deal with at the launch

Re: Apple launch (state owned ramp)
Can anyone give an update on the status of the Apple Island launch facility? Has the State installed docks yet? I've been so busy that I haven't had any time to get the boat out and might try on Sat. evening or Sunday. Also, is the Van Everest launch still good with water levels being low?

Re: Apple launch (state owned ramp)
Fred, there is a dock there. The state put in a temporary dock for this year. The ramp hasn't yet been upgraded. Beware of the low water conditions. Ben and I launched there yesterday but paid for and used Apple Islands launch.

Thanks Raz. Hope everyone looks before leaping with the low water levels. I'm sure the marine repair shops will be busy as the levels drop. Such a difference from last year.

Along these lines: see my comments regarding new launch(es) at http://www.lakechamplainunited.com/foru ... f=2&t=1947
It's not that I don't mind sharing- I just mind sharing something we pay for and then having other users that don't pay think *we* are in the way when the law says we are at the top of the pecking order.
