I like a 8'6" light action rod for planner boarding... But just MHO.

I know here in NH I love using 9' noodle rods with a mooching reel and sinking fly line. When the water gets warmer I'll use my bigger boards and switch over to lead core with long leaders. Never tried steel or dipsy's off the boards tho.

do you think a bait runner reel, on a rod would work ok. ?
i have used 3- 4 colors of LC. off of boards before.
i want to try a small dodger, fly , or dodger squid , just to see if it will put anything in the boat.
Thanks for the reply.
