Fishing Options southern Lake champlain

I'm heading down to Ludlow Vermont this weekend to take my 9 year old nephew out fishing on lake Champlain and was wondering if someone could give me a few options for launching the boat on the southern end of Champlain? I generally go out of Shelburne bay or north of there, so i don't know the area. I would like to target salmon and maybe browns/rainbow so I'm not sure how far north i would have to go. I've launch out of ferrisburgh a couple times but was looking for something south of that if the fish are down that way?
I have a small 17 foot alumicraft so I don't draft very deep.

Try this site. It lists all the fishing access areas. It will also list if you can launch a boat and what fish to expect.

There is a launch just south of the bridge not the greatest but I put my 20 foot lund in there or you can go over to port henry launch about 8 miles from there.You can start fishing right in front of the state park for trout and salmon and go north to green bouy or go in bulwagee.Troll shallow in bulwagee and watch the rock wall in to the bay go over to ny camp ground in that way if you have a map or navionics you can see this.If nothing there go north port henry in fifty feet water to 35 feet use same spoons as up north might be anywhere this time of year.

Duckman has it down. That is the shortest drive from Ludlow. Let us know how you guys make out.

You can launch from Benson Landing or Chipman's Point or Larabees.

You may want to consider trying out Lake Amhearst and Echo Lake, close by and may produce some trout for you.

Thanks for the info everyone! I've tried echo in the past and really never had a great amount of luck. This year the lakes are full of clay silt from the damage done during the hurricane last year, so I'm not sure they are even good to fish at this point.

Thanks again everyone! A friend met up with us, so we ended up going a bit north on the lake to Fort Cassin Launch and headed north a bit more on the VT side. We left the launch at about 7am and picked up a Salmon within the first 15 min of fishing. It was nothing of great size but it was my Nephew Phil's first Salmon, so it was a great start to the morning. We ran 6 lines 2 on riggers 2 slide divers and 2 lead lines and all seem to pick up fish. Watermelon and a holographic pinkish spoon seemed to be the hot lures. we ran from about 12 foot down to about 25 in 50-100 fow. We only went out for the morning so fished for about 3.5 hours but Phil ended up landing 5 lakers, 5 salmon and had 4 others on the line. As you can see in the picture one of the lakers was a nice sized one and he had quite a fight getting him in.
