Re: Nice weather for the week end!

Thanks fishy1 it's a 2.5 hr drive from home just up in the air if I want to make the trip or wait a week or so , may try the stripers on the Hudson only a half hour from home
Re: Nice weather for the week end!
went down this afternoon and the water is still stained but very fisheable. i could see my lure 4 feet down and the pillars on the end of the pier.

My buddy and I are planning to go to Converse tomorrow. I seem to remember a member on here posting that they ran into a submerged rock pile down there? Is that still submerged? Can anyone give me a sense of where that is? I have only been out of Converse once...

Re: Nice weather for the week end!
It's less than 100 yards of the end off Long point in Town farm bay. If your paying attention and know it's there, you can see the dark shape under water as you approach. Otherwise,as some have found, the hard way, it gets expensive real fast. No marker on it so pay close attention, the chart doesn't lie.
Re: Nice weather for the week end!
Great thanks for the heads up. Will try to avoid that disaster! Good luck to all heading out this weekend!

"we have the right to have 4 rods..." - I assume that this was because there were TWO licensed folks fishing on board? Meaning 2 rods per person? Or is this referring to the number of LURES one angler can have in the water(i.e. cheaters on each of the two allowed rods)

Real nice weekend. Taking care of a ton of chores and getting ready to move the camper up in a few weeks.
Re: Nice weather for the week end!
Fished Whalons Bay and around Split Rock with a buddy yesterday. Man did we get tossed around in my 16' Alumacraft! One salmon around 20 inches caught and released. Only other hit was a 7lb laker we caught in Converse Bay. Only 10 ft down , it put on quite a fight. My buddy kept that one for the smoker. Rough seas but a fun day on the water !
