Use full size backing plates and through bolts in both cases with stainless hardware and you will be fine. Good luck!

My Crestliner was the same way with about 3'' of foam under the gunnels. I did just as prior post mentioned. I used aluminum backing plates underneath with through holes and stainless hardware with nyloc nuts. Did the same with my mast. Never got to use the mast but the riggers worked out perfect. I made custom brackets for the Targa that slide into the Versa Track and rest on top of the gunnels. They work slick but I put more trust into those through bolts. I used 5/16'' hardware.

Getting closer myself! Just got word today that the new Targa V18 has shipped and is expected for delivery tomorrow! Still has some prep work to do but, if all goes well, I'm scheduled to go pick it up on Thursday next week! If everything works our right, I'll be doing my happy dance next week and will have some pictures of my own to post. Looks like I may not miss out on the spring salmon after all.

Now, here's hoping the New Fishin' 4 Fun treats me as well as my last Targa did!

New to me 2005 Trophy 1802 with 2005 Merc 115 hp Saltwater.
Will be adding a pair of Cannon Mag20-TS that will coordinate with an added humminbird 798CI-HDSI through a CannonLink so that I can control the downriggers as well as do anything a Digitrol can do from the helm. Adding a FishHawk 4XD. Also will add a Big Jon Dual Planer mast to the bow. Has a Garmin GPS and a radio (of course).

Can't wait to get the add ons started and get out this Spring.
