I thought I was ready to finally get out on the water, until this morning. One rigger was fine, but the other wouldn't even made a sound. I have power through the cord, but not even a click. I tried bypassing the reset button, but got no juice. I'm no electrical wizard so the rest will get sticky.
Is there a reasonable repair place to get it checked out in the Chittenden County area? I don't want to over invest in an old Mini Mag 5. A new Mag 10 is looking better by the day.
If this is common and an easy fix, please fill me in.
I'd appreciate any help I can get.
Thanks, Fred

Re: Cannon Mini Mag Failure
Hey Fred,
I had some old Mag 5's, and my biggest issue was the switches would go bad. In just a couple of years, I went through 2 on each rigger. Finally had enough, and traded them in for 2 new mag 10s. If you do have a bad switch, the quickest place I found was to order them through Fish 307, had them in a couple of days.
If you are really desperate to get out before then, you can pick up a cheap similar switch at Radio Shack. It wont fit right, and they are cheaply made, but I made do with one for a couple of days, just had it kinda taped in place till the new one came.
Hope this helps.......

Re: Cannon Mini Mag Failure
Problem solved. It helps to connect it correctly to the battery. I had checked for juice to the split and it was good, but didn't show that the wires had been reversed at the battery. DUH!!!
All ends well.
Thanks, Fred
